Register Voters and Have Dinner with Bill Clinton!

Chapter leaders--you have already heard about VAYD's Chapter Campaign Contest, in which your chapter can win a table at JJ, a VIP visit to your chapter, and ticket to the 2010 JSR dinner. Now we have another prize to throw into the mix. Courtesy of Terry McAuliffe, the individual Young Democrat that collects the most points for their chapter--by registering the voters, making phone calls and knocking on doors--will win a spot at a dinner with President Bill Clinton and Prime Minister Tony Blair!

VAYD Chapter Campaign Competition

Hello Virginia Young Democrats! In your communities and college towns, your efforts and your votes can put Tom Perriello, Gerry Connolly, and Glenn Nye over the edge. I know that each an every chapter will be hitting the doors and the phones for victory, but we want to put you to the test. With the generous support of the Democratic Party of Virginia, we are going to offer prizes to the three chapters who make the biggest impact!

Celebrate the Anniversary of the Youth Vote!

Today is the anniversary of the youth vote! On this day in 1971, the 26th Amendment was adopted making the voting age 18 years old nationwide. Celebrate YOUR right to vote by making your voice heard this election season. Register to vote, or ask 5 friends whether they are registered. Then sign up to volunteer for our targeted congressional elections to amplify your impact: Rick Boucher in the 9th, Gerry Connolly in the 11th, and Young Democrats Glenn Nye in the 2nd and Tom Perriello in the 5th. Go to www.vayd.org to find the Young Democrat chapter nearest you and join other Young Dems across the state in our Young Voter Revolution!

Who has the momentum? CREIGH DEEDS.

Latest Rasmussen polling shows that Bob "Working Women are a Detriment to Society" McDonnell leading Creigh Deeds by ONLY TWO POINTS. That's down from 9 in the previous poll. Additionally, "Fifty-two percent (52%) of voters now say the writings are at least somewhat important in terms of how they will vote. That’s up from 36% in the previous survey."

We've got the momentum and we've got the right message. Let's take it to the voters!

Creigh's picking up steam!

A new poll by Public Policy Polling shows that the Governor's race has tightened up! After being behind by double digits over the summer Creigh Deeds trails Bob "for Jobs for Men" McDonnell by 49-42.

Additionally, 86% of the data was collected BEFORE the story of McDonnell's backwards blueprint for Virginia hit on Sunday.

It's time to hit the campaign trail hard to keep up this momentum!

This new poll is great news for Creigh and our Democratic ticket, and it means that we have to work extra hard these next two months to continue the momentum achieve a Democratic victory in November!

Every phone call and every door knock that Young Democrats make these next two months brings us one step closer to victory. We need you now!
