Studies show that when a vote pledge is signed a young person is more likely to show up to vote. Collecting vote pledges is a simple way to engage in issue-based conversations and then get a commitment from your peers that they will vote for Democrats. Through this program we will quickly build a consistently reliable voting bloc of Young Democratic voters.

INVITATION: UVA Campaign Invasion!
Join the YDs at UVA on Saturday October 18, starting at 10 am, for a sweet day of campaigning in the 5th District. We'll be canvassing the local area, phoning to other key areas of the 5th District, and perhaps doing visibility outside our home football game. Additionally, we'll be having a huge party that night and everyone's invited. We have couch space available for those who need it! (or we can help you find a cheap hotel).

I just wanted to remind you that bids to host the 2009 VAYD Convention are due Sept. 26th. This deadline is quickly approaching, so don't forget to get your bid together if you are considering this tremendous opportunity!

Sign the petition to support students' suffrage and insist that Registrars across the Commonwealth in all 134 Cities and Counties accept students applications to register to vote that contains a dormitory address, and let our Delegates and Senators know that you want them to vote in favor of clarifying this important law!

It was with great interest I read this article on Huffington Post.  The article describes how the major political polls have shifted their criteria to provide more data from Republicans...in some cases a rather substantial shift...which may explain why the results have come out differently in the past few days.
